When thinkPat took to the task of unearthing the original patent that started it all for Sandisk, we came across US5297148A claiming a priority of 1989 assigned to Sandisk Corp, titled '
Now this one has Eliyahou Harari, Robert D. Norman, and Sanjay Mehrotra as inventors.
But looking further back, we can find earlier filings with only Eli Harari as the sole assignee - such as '
US5095344A, that claims the priority of 1988, the founding year of Sandisk.There are even more similar single assignee patents - '
And this is understandable since Eli was an expert in memory.
Skipping these, if we focus on patents marking Sandisk as the assignee, we reach to the true gem, the very first Sandisk Patent/
So for the basic patent or the the very first foundation patent of Sandisk, we can safely select US5297148A.
Now this is a big milestone for memory cards, but, remember - We said the same thing when we had a 1 GB memory card.
